Indigo Workwear Jacket

INDIGO WORKWEAR JACKET

A timeless workwear-inspired jacket, naturally dyed by hand in living indigo.

Each piece is slowly dyed in my studio on Dartmoor using traditional indigo vat methods, building colour through multiple immersions and oxidation cycles to create the rich layered blues unique to natural indigo.

Made from durable natural organic cotton cloth and designed as an everyday layer, the jacket combines practicality with a deep connection to traditional colour and craft.

Unlike synthetic dyes, indigo is alive throughout the dyeing process. Each immersion into the vat develops the colour gradually, creating subtle variations and depth that cannot be replicated industrially. No two jackets are ever exactly alike.

This first collection has been developed slowly over many months - refining the pattern, fit, fabric and dye process to create a versatile garment designed to be worn for years.

Wear over dresses, knitwear, shirts or simple everyday clothing as a functional layer for work, gardening, making, travelling and daily life.

THE COLOUR

Indigo is one of the world's oldest and most revered dye plants.

Across cultures and centuries it has been used to colour textiles, protect cloth, mark identity and accompany daily life. The distinctive blue develops through a remarkable alchemy of fermentation, oxygen and time.

Each jacket has been dyed through multiple dips in a natural organic indigo fructose vat, allowing the colour to build gradually into deep luminous blues that will continue to soften and evolve with wear.

CARE

Wash only when needed.

Cool hand wash or gentle machine wash with mild detergent.

Dry naturally.

Like all naturally dyed textiles, the colour will continue to develop character over time, becoming part of the story of the garment and its wearer.

Please note:

Each jacket is individually hand dyed. Subtle variations in tone, markings and colour depth are part of the beauty of the process and make every piece unique.
