COLOUR RITUALS

Online

Monthly — guided by the lunar cycle

Join the Colour Rituals online community for free to receive a different seasonal plant colour ritual each lunation.

An invitation to journey with a different dye plant every month, with guidance from natural dyer, artist and sensory herbalist Babs Behan.

Rooted in seasonality, creativity, ritual, ecology, and relationship with the living world, Colour Rituals offers slower and more intentional ways of working with plants and colour through dye, ink, paint, cloth, and creative practice.

Each month unfolds in two parts:

🌑 New Moon

An introduction to the month’s plant, alongside a materials and equipment list, giving two weeks to gather, prepare, observe, and begin drawing into relationship with the plant and the season.

🌕 Full Moon

Receive a creative practice in your inbox — including a natural colour recipe and ritual — working with the pigment of the plant as a dye, ink, paint, or other colour process.

Inside the free seasonal layer, you’ll receive:

  • Monthly New Moon + Full Moon Colour Rituals

  • Seasonal letters and reflections

  • Natural colour recipes and practices

  • Plant studies and botanical explorations

  • Creative prompts and process notes

  • Occasional behind-the-scenes writings and offerings from the studio

Over time, deeper layers of Colour Rituals will also unfold for those wishing to journey further into the science, chemistry, herbalism, alchemy, symbolism, and ceremonial aspects of intentional colour practice.

For now, you’re warmly invited to begin here.
