Organic Silk Printmaking with Fresh Flowers @ Hawkwood College, Stroud.

  • HAWKWOOD COLLEGE Painswick Old Road Stroud, England, GL6 7QW United Kingdom (map)

Enjoy a day of foraging organic fresh flowers from the Hawkwood gardens and using them to imprint and fuse floral inks into cloth with this innovative printmaking technique, to make your own herbal infused, and uniquely printed, silk scarf.

In this class you will learn about which plants give colour-fast results, how harvest them responsibly and transfer their botanical colours directly into textiles, using a simple bind and steaming process.

You will also gain an intro to some natural dyeing basics, explore herbalism, plant symbology and gain a meaningful skill you can repeat again and again.

Discover a contemporary form of alchemical printmaking, and make incredible repeat patterns, infused with floral and herbal healing qualities.

A length of organic British-grown silk is provided and included in the cost.

£80 including a delicious lunch and refreshments.
